Continuing with the development of WINE 10 that will be released in early 2025, WineHQ launched a few hours ago WINE 9.7. It arrived two weeks after the earlier version, and it also does not have a long list of changes as we were used to in the development of the stable versions of WINE 7 or 8. Thinking about the best possibility, this could mean that a more mature point has been reached that does not require so many patches .
Among the new features that have stood out from the launch of WINE 9.7, support has been added for a compilation system compatible with ARM64X, some restructuring has been done to the Vulkan driver interface and improvements in WIDL for support for ARM as well as typelibs SLTG, to which is added the usual point of various bug fixes. In terms of numbers, 18 bugs fixed and 120 changes in total.

- Old C&C titles freeze after loading the map.
- Clang 6.0 fails when running under wine.
- Multiple applications need support of the NtQueryInformationProcess 'ProcessQuotaLimits' class (MSYS2, ProcessHacker 2.x).

- Totem Arts Launcher.exe displays garbled text.
- Videos in the BURIKO visual novel engine.
- PresentationFontCache.exe crashes during the installation of .Net 3.51 SP1.
- USER INTERFACE: Applications using ModernWPF crash, Windows.Ui.ViewManagment.InputPane.TryShow is not implemented.
- Windows XP Mspaint requires imm32.CtfImmIsCiceroEnabled.
- HP System Diagnostics crashes when clicking the Devices tab.
- ON1 photo raw installs but does not run the application.
