Rhino Linux 2025.2, an update packed with patches

Rhino Linux 2025.2

Rhino Linux 2025.2 has officially arrived almost a month after the earlier version, also known as point. For those who don't know it, it is an Ubuntu-based operating system, but with a continuous release or Rolling Release development model. At first it was little more than the original system with different repositories, but the project mutated into a more independent distribution, to the point that it has its own graphical environment called Unicorn.

It is worth remembering that in releases of this type, in which the protagonist is a Rolling Release distro, what is announced are new ISO images for clean installations. Everything that Rhino Linux 2025.2 includes It has already been received by users with existing installations, as long as they launch the update tool regularly. Although to do it properly and make sure everything is up to date you have to enter the command rpk update -y.

«Last month's release started the year off with a bit of a bump. Several important bugs slipped through the cracks in the final testing phase, and we worked quickly and diligently to resolve issues users were facing, but we strive to deliver a better, more complete experience for our users, and the latest release may not have met those expectations. Smaller open source projects often run on volunteer labor alone, and Rhino Linux is no exception. If you'd like to contribute to the development of Rhino Linux, join our Discord server and participate in the discussion. You can also report new issues and check out existing ones on the Rhino Linux Bug Tracker«.
