ExTiX is a Swedish GNU/Linux distribution . Created in the land of IKEA, this distro comes close to perfection, being fast, stable, and quite beautiful. The developers' main philosophy is to create a very robust distro, despite being based on the unstable version of Debian. Furthermore, it offers the best of both worlds, incorporating elements from both projects. And as its slogan states, it could be "The Ultimate Linux System."
Being based on Debian, it uses a DEB package manager , so you won't have any trouble finding packages compatible with this distro, as DEB packages are plentiful. Furthermore, initially, the lighter version of this distro offered a GNOME Shell or Razor desktop environment, but version 15 featured a KDE desktop, and now ExTiX 16.1 uses LQXt. Currently, it can be downloaded as an ISO image from the project's official website, which is just over 1GB in size.

ExTiX uses its own kernel, which provides reliability, performance, and robustness. This kernel variant, called EXTON , has been specially compiled to give the system robustness and efficiency. Its installation process is identical to Ubuntu's, making it easy to install, although it lacks the Ubuntu Software Center. However, this is more of an advantage than a disadvantage, given the center's discontinuation. Therefore, we can use other sources to install software.
