As expected given the time of year, Cinnamon 6.2 is now available . The steps leading to a new version of Linux Mint involve Canonical releasing a new version of Ubuntu, the Mint project releasing a new version of its desktop environment, and finally, a new version of its operating system. The first step took place in April, and the second this past weekend.
In terms of new features, Cinnamon 6.2 doesn't come with a long list of highlights. Like many other projects, Clem Lefebvre and his team are now focusing on Wayland, and also polishing what they released in previous versions. Optimization work is still important, but it doesn't generate as many headlines. What you have below is a list of some of the new features that have arrived with Cinnamon 6.2.

- New 5 and 10 second screen lock delay options.

- It is now possible to display pending battery charge/discharge states in Power Management.
- New action icon for Mint-X theme.
- NVIDIA support improvements.
- Improvements to the workspace selector.
- The Science section has been added to the menu.
Cinnamon 6.2 is the desktop environment developed by the Mint team for their operating system, but it can also be installed on other distributions. The files are published on GitHub . It will soon be available for installation on some rolling release distributions like Arch Linux, and Linux Mint 22 will arrive with this desktop environment in its main edition in July or August.
