This week we 've talked about the release of the latest version of Kali Linux, a distribution labeled as "ethical hacking" due to all the tools it includes. Yesterday, another update was released for a different distro of this type: BlackArch Linux 2019.06.1 . The Kali Linux update released this week doesn't seem particularly significant, its most notable feature being that NetHunter is now available on more than 50 Android devices. However, we can't say the same for the new version of the ethical hacking distribution released yesterday.
To begin with, BlackArch Linux 2019.06.1 includes over 150 new tools for testing (ahem, hacking) the security of devices, networks, and more. Furthermore, the kernel has been updated to the latest stable version, Linux 5.1.4, and the operating system installer has been updated to version 1.1.1. Additionally, the "jedi-vim" plugin, which adds the Jedi autocomplete library to the Vim editor, has been added, along with several other updated Vim plugins.

What is understood by its numbering to be the June 2019 version of BlackArch Linux, even though it's still May, also comes with support for txvt-unicode and Xresources , updated Xdefaults , tools, configuration files, kernel packages, and window manager menus for Awesome, Flubox, and Openbox. As expected with every update, bugs have also been fixed to improve the system's overall performance and reliability.
The new version is available on the BlackArch Linux download page . Like many other Linux distributions, it can be used in Live mode , allowing you to avoid installing it on your computer and use it only when you want to test the security of a device.
