postmarketOS 23.06 SP1 on the Nokia N900

When it came out on Nokia N900 I had just purchased an N97 from the same brand. It was an innovative Linux phone that I could have bought, but I figured there wouldn't be many apps available and it was better to wait. Now I regret it. We are in 2023, and that Nokia device can install the postmarketOS v23.06 SP1 which was released this weekend. The most striking thing here is that the N900 is already 14 years old.

There are some improvements in postmarketOS v23.06 SP1 for the N900, such as a power button that appears when you press the power button and an improved terminal with a scroll bar. Besides, There is now a “staging” repository to test the operating system before its launch. postmarketOS is available for many devices, among which we do not find the original PineTab, but we do find the N900.     • Restore modem.

    • Use elogind to suspend.
    • Remove default conky configuration.
    • Do not open the terminal for prompt bar actions.
