This week it was time for a new development version of Wine Is Not an Emulator and It is now availableWhat they've delivered this time is WINE 11.10And it has arrived, as expected, two weeks after v11.9As a general rule, they release development versions every two weeks, only changing the schedule during periods like the mid-year holidays. They start releasing Release Candidates as early as November, but we'll talk about that when the time comes.
What matters here is that WINE 11.10 is now available, and the highlights list tells us that vkd3d has been upgraded to version 2.0, support for XPath without libxml2 has been reimplemented, and further improvements have been made to VBScript compatibility, in addition to the usual array of bug fixes. In total, they have implemented... 236 changes and corrected 17 bugs, those in the following list.
Bugs fixed in WINE 11.10
- TWAIN font cannot be selected in IrfanView.
- Star Wars Racer videos have no sound.
- Git for Windows either works or crashes depending on how it is invoked.
- The Kodak EasyShare installer does not populate the country list (it requires GEO_FRIENDLYNAME).
- The Family Tree Maker 2017 installer fails after numerous 'fixme' console messages.
- The Foxit PhantomPDF Business v10.0 installer fails and displays: 'Printer installation error, please check the printing service'.
- Vocaloid 6 does not run.
- Desktop files generated by Wine do not conform to the Desktop Entry specification.
- The initial screen of Photolemur 3 displays 'tofu' characters between letters on three lines.
- Photolemur 3 freezes if you use the Settings / Language menu.
- explorerframe: ITaskbarList3 SetProgressValue/SetProgressState are stubs; they could use native desktop backends.
- Querying namespace nodes using XPath's namespace:: axis returns NULL for all nodes. selectSingleNode('namespace::prefix') returns S_FALSE/NULL and selectNodes('namespace::*') returns an empty list, even when the namespace is in scope.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – rendering failure with active framebuffer effects.
- shcore: Set/GetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID are stubs.
- TrackChecker-x64.exe gets stuck at 100% CPU usage on startup since Wine 11.7 (msxml3 regression).
- Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties freezes during the initial cinematics.
- comctl32:button: the test fails from 67898adb.

Wine 11.10 is now available for download from the button below. Its download page also contains information on how to install this and other versions on Linux operating systems, as well as others like macOS and even Android.
In two weeks, if the usual schedule holds and nothing suggests otherwise, WINE 11.11 will arrive, also with dozens of changes to prepare for WINE 12.0, which, based on past releases, will arrive in early 2027. This pace will continue until the end of the year, when the release frequency will increase to weekly Release Candidates, then stable (WINE 12), and then development of WINE 13.0 will begin.
