
Valve launched A new version of their operating system for gaming was released a few hours ago. Steam OS 3.7.17 It's not a major update, it seems more like a... hotfix to improve issues they consider important, even if not many users are experiencing them. The benefits, of course, will go to those who were suffering from one of the patched problems, such as players of Baldur's Gate 3, a 2020 game that arrived on Steam three years later, in 2023.
And, apparently, There were times when the performance overlay interface did not appear in Baldur's Gate 3It's not a bug that prevents you from playing the game, but it has to be said that when someone is used to something and it's taken away, the experience is, to say the least, strange. This bug is fixed in SteamOS 3.7.17

The remaining patches include temporarily disabling experimental Bluetooth wake support for the LCD version of the Steam Deck while they investigate erroneous exits from sleep state. Additionally, they've fixed an issue that could prevent updates from some older SteamOS builds. Waiting to update is fine, but waiting too long seems less so.
In desktop mode, a bug in Discover that could cause updates to fail in some situations has been fixed.
To apply the update, simply go to Settings/General and install the one that will be waiting. Keep in mind that SteamOS uses atomic updates, which essentially replaces the important components of this image with the previous one. If you don't update to this version, the future upgrade will have to be larger, and you might encounter problems like one that was fixed in SteamOS 3.7.17.
At a future date yet to be determined, they will update to a version which, among other things, will allow games to be downloaded in a "semi-standby" mode that will consume less energy.
