Opera introduces us to Aria, its AI assistant integrated into the browser

Aria at Opera One

One of these days we will publish an article in which the news will be that there has been nothing new in the world of artificial intelligence, but that day will not be today. Without going any further, this Monday we talked about Alice, a chatbot in the form of a widget that appears in the Russian version of Yandex. Now, Opera has done something similar, but in this case it has introduced us to AIR.

But what is Aria really? A bit like LuzIA: she is actually ChatGPT, and the main difference is that it is integrated into the browser and registration is not required to use it. Like LuzIA. And like the AI from the Spanish developer team, and also like the original ChatGPT, it is sold to us as the solution to all our problems, only appearing in the small print that is not as reliable as we might expect.

Aria is now available in the developer version of Opera One

It seems clear that Opera Software wants to take advantage of the troubled river we are in right now. Although they have always had their loyal users, for their ex-CEO to go his own way and create Vivaldi It has made them lose, at least, prominence. The V browser adds version after version interesting functions, such as Workspaces, and takes many covers. But at Opera Software they know that we are in a moment that can change everything, and if they play their cards right they could win many users. There are people who ask that ChatGPT be added by default to browsers, and that is exactly what Opera has done with Aria.

Now, is it such an important feature, something that could be said to be a game changer? Personally, I think not. I already have ChatGPT on my panel, and also LuzIA, and both these and Aria offer similar results. In fact, the latest stable version of Opera has ChatGPT added by default, and I don't see much difference compared to the new Aria, other than that it's not registration required and name change.

Anyone who wants to try it out can theoretically do so using the latest developer version of Opera One. More Information.
