After every major update comes the minor or point updates. This February, The Document Foundation launched version 25.2 of its office suite, a major iteration in which, in addition to introducing new features, they have begun to dismantle things to abandon support for Windows 7 and 8. A few moments ago they have made the launch official de LibreOffice 25.2.1, a minor release that has arrived only to correct the first errors detected in this series.
In total, 77 bugs fixed in LibreOffice 25.2.1, 64 of them collected in the release notes the RC1 and another 13 in the note of the RC2. Nothing of note is mentioned in this release note, so it's assumed that they haven't addressed any serious security flaws or particularly gross bugs.
LibreOffice 25.2.1 still not recommended for production teams
The Document Foundation still does not recommend LO 25.2.1 for production teams. Those who prefer stability should opt for version 24.8.5, which with five corrective versions is as stable as it can be. 25.2.1 is offered on its “Fresh” channel, which is the one that offers all the new features earliest. Although it is already a stable version, it is expected that there will be bugs that need to be polished, and that is the reason why they offer another more stable option.
Interested users can download LibreOffice 25.2.1 from your official websiteThere, Linux users can download DEB or RPM packages. The flatpak and snap packages were not updated at the time of writing this article.
LibreOffice 25.2 arrived this February with new features such as full support for version 1.4 of the OpenDocument Format (ODF), a more customizable look and feel, accessibility improvements, and enhancements to each of the applications that make up the suite (Writer, Calc, Impress, and Draw). As mentioned, this version no longer supports Windows 7 or Windows 8.
