Firefox 153 introduces a new interface for settings

Settings in Firefox 151 and Firefox 153

It's been less than 48 hours since Mozilla officially launched Firefox 151, the latest stable version of its web browser. Shortly after, and as it does every four weeks, it also updated the Beta, Dev, and Nightly channel versions, with the most recent being the Nightly version, which is now at Firefox 153Much of what they test in the "night tests" doesn't make it to the stable version, but most of it does eventually, sooner or later.

And something that is expected in the medium-term future is a Updated design, something we've already started to see in the settings Firefox 153. The header screenshot shows how they look in the current Firefox 151 and how they will look in version 153, which will arrive in 8 weeks. A quick glance is enough to realize that, at the very least, there are more sections in the future release of the browser of the... fox? (that's what they're now saying the mascot is, a fox, and not a red panda, among other controversial issues).

Firefox 153 will arrive in 8 weeks with redesigned settings

The new layout of the settings sections is clearerThis improves organization and makes navigation easier. I must admit that for me, it's a considerable improvement. To give a personal example, I find it difficult to locate certain sections in the current Firefox, such as the language settings, and I end up using the search box to find some options. From Firefox 153 onward, languages will be in their own dedicated section.

The Appearance, Downloads, and Passwords sections are also available, all accessible from the browser's General Settings. For those who are curious, the AI section, which allows you to manage whether to use AI or disable it entirely, is still present.
