Are your links from acestream Are your channels not working on Kodi? If you've been looking for a solution, here it is. Many channels aren't working, and the reason is that Horus doesn't handle them properly. Horus relies heavily on Plexus, and for some time now, it has been trying to open channels at least twice and failing miserably. The solution is to use an external player, which is easy on Android, but not so much on desktop operating systems.

What we are going to explain here is How to use an external player in Kodi. The final solution isn't the most elegant, but it will fix everything that's causing problems with Horus. On Android, it's very simple: go to Horus settings and activate the "External Player" switch. When one of the problematic channels in Kodi + Horus stops playing, use the option to play it on another device, such as Ace Player. You'll probably have to watch an ad every now and then, but it's worth it.

Add an external player to play AceStream on Kodi

La official documentation It says, among other things, that the file can be created playercorefactory.xml in the route ~/.kodi/userdata with this content:

/usr/bin/mpv --fs=yes "{1}" false

Once saved, restart Kodi. When you reopen Kodi, all videos will open in MPV format. With this, Kodi add-ons will still help us find channels, but when we try to open one, it will open in MPV format and the errors will disappear. Or at least partially, because when we return to Kodi we'll see strange things, like an error message saying it couldn't play anything.

Undo the changes

We said it wasn't the most elegant solution for a reason. Although there have been reports of cases where removing the rules tags makes the MPV playback option appear in the context menu, doing so does reveal the option, but at least in my case, it always plays with Kodi. After much investigation and seeing that everything failed, my solution is to rename the file. playerfactorycore.xml When we want Kodi to work with its player, and after restarting it, it will work as usual.

A detail to keep in mind

There's something I think is important to keep in mind. The problems are with Horus, not Kodi. Kodi IS capable of playing them all, but Horus is the one that's failing, as we've already mentioned. So there's another thing you can try: if the add-on in question has the option, you can go to the settings and select "use external player," "internal player," or whatever that option says. One I use even has "No Horus" in parentheses, and when I activate it, the links play without any problems.

It would be best if Horus sorted out his problems, but in the meantime, this will do.
